- 2-way sync: employees can manage and track their VTO on Deed and on the HRIS system
- They are eligible for Volunteer Events only
- Workday integration (2-way integration)

VTO Employee Experience
VTO Requests
- When an employee signs up to a Volunteer Event, they will see their updated VTO balance. If they have sufficient balance, they will have the option to select 'request VTO.' They will need to select the checkbox to do so.
- Once an employee selects the checkbox and completes the signup, a VTO request will be created for the employee. This will automatically get sent to the HRIS system in the backend.
- The employee will be able to track their VTO request on their Profile on Deed. Additionally, they will be able to track their request on their HRIS system.
- Coming soon = ability to log hours independent of a deed Volunteer Event. Employees will be able to select the nonprofit, the date and times, and request VTO.
VTO Approval
- Approving a VTO request is handled through the HRIS system by Company Admin.
- Once the VTO request has been approved or declined, Deed will receive that update and email the employee with the status. The status will also be updated on the employee's Deed Profile.
- If the VTO time is approved, the VTO hours will be deducted after the event has occurred and the employee has logged their hours.
- Coming soon = when auto-logging is live, this will happen automatically.
- If the VTO time is declined, the employee will still be signed up to the event – and the employee will need to choose whether they want to continue attending the Volunteer Event or not. The employee can cancel their attendance at any time.
